  2. Angleton I.S.D. Mission Statement Our mission is to prepare each student academically and socially to become a responsible and productive citizen.

  3. Angleton Junior High School Mission Statement Our mission is the continual development of an environment which inspires every participate to life-long learning as a responsible and productive member of an ever-changing world.

  4. Because I am a Wildcat, I pledge to be honorable, uphold the six pillars of character, and carry myself with the pride of being an Angleton Wildcat.

  5. Attendance • Our School Day: 7:50 a.m.-3:33 p.m. -Students may be dropped at 7:00 a.m. -It is extremely important that your child arrives to school on time – every minute is important and every minute lost only hurts your child. Your child will be considered tardy after the 8:00 a.m. bell. • Absence -A note from the parent/guardian upon returning is required. The note must include the date as well as the reason for the absence. -A students has 48 hours to provide this note to the school or the absence will be counted as unexcused. -It is my policy as a teacher to call after 3 consecutive days when your child is not at school. Therefore, it is extremely helpful to me if you would call or send an email and let me know that your child is going to be absent, if you are able. • Tardies -Unexcused tardies result in lunch detention Additional information concerning attendance policies can be located on page 7 and 8 of the Student Hand Book

  6. 5 Step Discipline Plan Student/Teacher Conference Private conversation between teacher and student Student/Team Conference Parents is notified of conference Parent Notification Principal is notified of meeting Teacher-Assigned Detention Referral to Office Office referrals may result in Detention, Academy, or GSC Time (In School Suspension). Serious offenses such as: Drugs, Alcohol, Weapons, Fighting, and Bullying will result in an immediate referral to the office.

Grading Scale Classwork: 50% Quizzes: 20% Tests: 30% A 90-100 E-Excellent B 80-89 S-Satisfactory C 70-79 N –Need Improvement F Below 70 U-Unsatisfactory-Unacceptable Students should always show all of their work/strategies. Partial credit for incorrect answers may be given when the process is correct. All students whose Progress Report and/or Report Card grades are a 69 or lower are required to attend mandatory tutorials.

  9. Ways to Help Your Child Succeed Junior High School students benefit greatly by having strong support and participation from parents and guardians at home. This support is given through activities such as:      * Enforcing a set time and place for homework * Helping with homework * Asking your child about school and take an interest in what we are learning * Making sure (s)he gets enough sleep * Setting limits on the amount of television (s)he watches

  11. Conferencing • I am available to conference by phone, e-mail and in person from 7:30 a.m. to 7:50 a.m., 11:09 a.m. to 12:05 p.m., and 3:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Please call the Front Office, send a note by your child, or request a conference through e-mail. • Please know that it is challenging to speak with parents when students are arriving to class and while teaching. In the event of me being unavailable to speak to you, please leave a detailed message with our school secretary and she will relay this information to me or you can just call my voicemail directly. To help me better understand the situation and reach you immediately, please leave your name, your child's first and last name, a contact number to reach you, and your message.
