SIR FRANCIS DRAKE - 1577 • Drake plans to raid Spanish port cities on the west coast of South America. • However, he loses all but one of his ships in bad storms. • The Golden Hind (Drake’s flagship) he continues and successfully raids the Spanish port cities.
