  1. Skype Program Linking with Suta Dharma school Bali July 2012

  2. Why did I start? • It is important for the students to have an understanding of the cultural diversities of our closest neighbour, Indonesia. • To foster a close and friendly relationship with a school in Indonesia through a skype program. • Cultural exchanges. • Language learning with real live native speakers. • To inculcate a sense of gratitude, sharing and caring for one another.

  3. How Did I start? • I choose Bali because many of our students and their families often go to Bali for holidays. • I started looking on the internet for schools in Bali. I emailed to about 8 schools in early 2011. • IbuPutu (Public Relations officer) from SutaDharma School, Ubud, Bali replied my email. • Made my first Visit to the school in December 2011, while I was holidaying with my family.

  4. When did the skype program start? What did I do? • Skype program started in July 2012. • Students use one laptop and students individually greet and introduced themselves over skype in Indonesian. Our students sang the Australian national anthem and they in turn sang the Indonesian Raya. • Further sessions, students speak on one to one basis with some set questions. Another student will be observing at the side.
