  1. How do you find all the factor pairs of a number? For example: Find all the factors pairs of 12

  2. In this lesson you will learn how to find all the factor pairs of a number by using a T-Chart

  3. What’s a Factor? A factor is whole numbers that multiplies with another factor to get whole number product. 2x3 =6 Factors Product

  4. A factor is a whole number that evenly divides into another number. 6÷2 =3 7÷2 =3 R 1 Product Factors

  5. Commutative Property: A x B= B x A 2x3 =6 3x2 =6

  6. When listing factor pairs, don’t forget to list the number as a factor of itself. 6=1x6

  7. Find all the factor pairs for 6 6 product 1 x 6 2 x 3 Factors

  8. Find all the factor pairs for 12 12 1 x 12 2 x 6 3 x 4

  9. In this lesson you have learned how to find all the factor pairs of a number by using a T-chart.

  10. Find all the factor pairs of 30 30 1x30 2x15 3x10 5 x6

  11. Find the factor pairs for 15.

  12. A new chocolate bar is being designed. What rectangular shapes can they make if the bar has 50 squares? (Find the factor pairs for 50.)

  13. Find all the possible chocolate bar dimensions for a bar with 62 squares. List the dimensions as pairs, then in numerical order from least to greatest.

  14. GAME: “Factors For It” • Use playing cards with the Kings, Queens, and Jacks removed. Two players play at a time. Scratch paper or white boards and pens are needed. Aces =1 • Directions: • Place the cards in a single stack in the center. • Flip two cards over. • The players multiply the two factors (cards) together to get the product of the two cards. (2 & a 5= 2x5=10) • Then the players use their paper or white boards to list ALL of the factor pairs that make up that product. • Winner must have all the factors written down. Winner keeps both cards, a ‘draw’ leaves the cards, the winner of the next turn gets these cards as well.

  15. Find all the factor pairs for 16. Find the factor pairs for 28.
