  1. CARDIO-VASCULAR SYSTEM – Part 1 JonyMallik B. Pharmacy; M. Pharmacy E-mail: jonymallik@ymail.com

  2. CARDIO-VASCULAR SYSTEMThe system which is related with the Heart & BloodCOMPONENTS OF CVS:- *Heart *Blood vessel -vein -artery -microcirculation/capillary

  3. COMPONENTS OF THE HEART:- *Four chamber -Left atrium -Right atrium -Left ventricle -Right ventricle * Superior vanecava (Attach with the Right atrium) * Inferior vanecava (Attach with the Right atrium) * Pulmonary vein (Attach with the left atrium) * Pulmonary artery (Attach with the right ventricle) * Aorta * SA (Syno-atrial) node *AV (Atrioventricular) valve * Bi & Tri caspid valve * Purkinjee fibre * Three coverings -Pericardium -Myocardium (Cardiac muscle) -Endocardium

  4. HEART/CARDIAC RATE `Heart rate is the number of heart beat per minute’ In fetus:140-160bpm In children:120-140bpm Adult:60-100bpm Average:72bpm #TACHYCARDIA `When the heart rate is greater then 100bpm it is called Tachycardia’ Due to- -Excessive water intake -Mental hasitation -Exercise -Disease condition (fever, rheumatic fever, arthritis)

  5. #BRADYCARDIA `When the heart rate is lower then 60bpm it is called Bradycardia’ Due to- -Excessive water loss -Tension -Excessive rest -Disease condition (Diarrhoea , vomiting)

  6. BLOOD PRESSURE `Blood pressure is the lateral pressure exerted by the blood on per unit area of the blood vessel’ BLOOD PERUNIT AREA OF BV BLOOD PRESSURE NORMAL PRESSURE: 80-120mmHg

  7. TYPES:- Mainly it has two types- *Systolic pressure *Diastolic pressure *SYSTOLIC PRESSURE `The pressure which is found by the ventricular systole’ Normal systolic pressure:120-140mmHg

  8. DIASTOLIC PRESSURE `The pressure which is found by the ventricular diastole’ Normal diastolic pressure:70-90mmHg

  9. HEART SOUND:- The sound which is produced by the heart due to the vibration of the atrio-ventricular valve or intra cardiac blood flow’ HEART SOUND: LUB-DUB-LUB-DUB TYPES:- *First HS(S1) *Second HS(S2) *Third HS(S3) *Fourth HS(S4)

  10. *s1 due to closure of the AV valve*s2 due to closure of the semilunar valve*s3 due to first rapid filling phase*s4 is due to the second rapid filling phase CAUSE OF HS
