Strong year 2010 2 • Metsäliitto Group’s result from year 2010 was strong • Every quarters result were positive • Focusing our own strenghts came to fruition • We were able to exploit recovered market conditions • Following through the internal development program was continued • Operations were improved throughout Metsäliitto Group 2010

Brighter year on every business area • Intended purchasing numbers were attained in Wood Supply • Faint trade in the beginning of the year was picking up on the second half-year • Wood Product Industry improved its profitability and market situation was also risen • Recovering market situation raised pulp prices and rate of exchange for USD was developing favourably that improved result significantly • Operating time ratios in the mills were very good. Annual pruduction records were broken in Joutseno, Rauma and Äänekoski • In Board and Paper profitability improved significantly • Sales of own brands in Tissue and Cooking Papers still grew Metsäliitto Group 2010

Industry’s raw material volumes for year 2011 are on normal level – wood will be purchased evenly through the year Aggregate demand of wood products is not expected to change significantly Pulp demand is expected to stay strong and profitability to stay on good level Demand for board and uncoated fine paper is expected to stay on good level also in the nearest months General demand and strong sales of own brands is expected to continue in Tissue and Cooking papers There are no significant changes in view to market situation and Metsäliitto Group’s operating result excluding non-recurring items in the first quarter of 2011 is expected to be approximately at the same level as in the previous quarter.
