  2. Purpose • To highlight a tool that you can use to help make UNMJobs easier to work with

  3. UNM Jobs: Critical Processes • The UNMJobs project team has defined critical processes necessary to working with UNMJobs

  4. What are these critical processes? • In general, critical processes deal with: • Posting • Screening • Hiring …related to UNMJobs, for Faculty, Staff, and Students

  5. How many of these processes are there in total? • Currently there are approximately 45 processes that have been defined as “critical”

  6. How much information is this?

  7. How will I ever learn all of this? • You won’t need to “memorize” anything • All 45 processes have been converted to flow charts • All processes are accessible online, anytime

  8. How do I get there? • Open your Internet Explorer web browser • Type: inprocess.unm.edu

  9. What else do I need? • You’ll need Adobe SVG • This can be downloaded and installed in less than one minute: http://www.adobe.com/svg/viewer/install/mainframed.html • This link is available immediately when you open inProcess

  11. The benefits of using maps • You can see multiple relationships among areas in a way that standard text can’t show • Improved memory for content (vs. plain text)

  12. Other benefits • More consistency across areas regarding how processes are done • More transparency within a process

  13. More benefits • Save time • It’s easy to look up answers in one place vs. calling around • Serve as a “one-stop-shop”

  14. Are the processes perfect? • No. • Processes were developed by subject matter experts (SMEs) • An additional set of eyes is always a good thing

  15. If you have the time… • Join the Process Focus Groups • Share your feedback regarding these maps at Process Focus Group sessions: • Session length: 1.5 hours • Location: UNM Business Center • Sessions are being scheduled based on volunteer interest and availability
