  3. The Resort Location • Andaman Coast • 4 Hours North of Phuket International Airport • 800km South of Bangkok • Nearest Mainland town is Kuraburi Town. Background Golden Buddha has been established ecological resort for 17 years. It is positioned on the 8th largest island in Thailand called Koh Phra Thong. It offers private rooms that look out onto a large outdoor verandas and open air bathrooms. Important General Information • Electricity & Air Conditioning • Runs from 6 pm – 11pm only in the houses • Runs from 7am – 11pm in the clubhouse • Some houses have solar power but weather and battery conditions will determine solar effectiveness • No houses have air conditioning but instead we have a great sea breeze! • General • Golden Buddha is set on a tropical island and remote from mainland infrastructure. We like to ensure that all guests are fully aware of some of the characteristics of our remote resort before arriving. • There are no shops • There are no roads • The nearest hospital is 2 hours away • We share our space with many types of wildlife such as lizards, bats, deer, monkeys, hornbills. This though means that occasionally there are some not so pleasant habitants such as mosquitos and ‘no see ums’ • Money And Payment • We accept cash (Thai Baht only) Visa, MasterCard and Amex • We use a Thai Bank and therefore guests must notify their bank that they will be away to minimise risk of rejected cards. • There is no currency exchange or ATMS • Transfers • From Phuket Airport the transfer is around 4 hours. • 2pm is the latest pick up from the airport to get to the resort the same day • We cannot use boats in the dark for safety reasons. • Internet • Basic Wifi service in the clubhouse only • Internet is run off a satellite and is not necessarily reliable or inexpensive. • It is fine for basic email and checking flights but nothing too complex www.goldenbuddharesort.com
