Salary is very poor. • Occupation size is Excellent. • Job stability is poor as well. • A waitress is someone who takes peoples orders and brings them their suggested food. • Waitresses work at hotels, restaurants, bars, taverns, private clubs, and banquet halls. • Waitresses have to be good at memorizing things so that they can give the customer eye contact as well as a very well dressed style so that the restaurant gives off a good impression as well as a good appearance. They have to present food menus, answer questions, and give suggestions/recommendations to customers. • Take orders and then let the staff and kitchen know. • Provide information about meals and drinks. • Serve food and beverages. • Ensure that the customers are enjoying their meals and beverages and correct any problems. • Handle customer complaints and arguments. • Collect payment for bills and process payment. Duties

Workers may end up anywhere and in any environment such as indoors or outdoors. • Workers end up with shifts or splitting things with people and sometimes have to come into work on holidays or when people are most likely to come in and dine. • When there is more customers at times, they may feel under pressure or have to put up with ignorant and rude costumers. • They may get hurt from injuries from work such as wrist injuries from holding too many plates.   5. Most servers and waitresses are women. • Most people do not get a full time job and usually have to quit halfway through the year so others can apply. • The only amount that the worker fully gets to themselves is a tipfrom the customers. Current workforce

Since there is such a large amount of people who want the job there is many places that are open for it. • When there is a family with very big amount of people in it, it usually ends up with a very high amount of times visiting restaurants or fast food places because they don’t have enough time to cook and prepare meals. • If you have very good skills then you are most likely to be chosen. • The mainland/southwest region has the highest number of those employed of food and beverage services throughout all of BC.
