  4. Chain of Results • Prime Minister Indra Gandhi was assassinated by her own Sikh guards • October 31st • Indians were angered • Immediately began riots against Sikhs • Riots end on the day of Indra Gandhi’s cremation • November 2nd

  5. This bus was stopped by rioters and this man was dragged out of it. The rioters will either beat him to death or burn him alive. Sikh Man Surrounded

Those Who Survived Ashu Jasbir Small poor town Stones thrown at them Moved to police station for one night Lived in safe house for ten days with other families Own house almost burned down Father almost attacked Extreme discrimination afterwards • Lived in safe government colony • Stones thrown at house • Military check on them • Afraid for father
