  2. The Program The Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs provide incentive payments to eligible professionals, eligible hospitals and critical access hospitals (CAHs) as they adopt, implement, upgrade or demonstrate meaningful use of certified EHR technology.

Georgia Medicaid Electronic Health Records Incentive program Eligible Professionals incentive payments of up to $63,750 • Physicians • Nurse practitioners • Certified nurse-midwives, • Dentists and • Physician assistants (who furnish services in a Federally Qualified Health Center or Rural Health Clinic that is led by a physician assistant.) • At least 30% Medicaid patient volume or • 20% - 29% Medicaid patient volume, and is a pediatrician or; • Practice predominantly in a Federally Qualified Health Center or Rural Health Center and have a minimum 30% patient volume attributable to needy individuals AND

Georgia Medicaid Electronic Health Records Incentive program Eligible Hospitals • Acute care hospitals (including CAHs hospitals) with at least 10% Medicaid patient volume • Children's hospitals (no Medicaid patient volume requirements) Adopt, Implement, Upgrade or demonstrate Meaningful Use of certified EHR technology.

  5. Birth of the Collaborative • 13 states collaborated to develop a “core” system with HP: • Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Massachusetts, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Wisconsin • Medical Assistance Provider Incentive Repository - MAPIR

Medical Assistance Provider Incentive Repository - MAPIR • MAPIR is the state level EHR incentive program repository • Customized by each State • Interfaces with Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Program Registration and Attestation System (R&A) • State Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) • Georgia launched on September 5th! • Predicted 54 hospitals would be eligible……

Stage 1 Meaningful Use Stage 1 Meaningful Use will focus on: • Electronically capturing health information in a standardized format • Using that information to track key clinical conditions • Communicating that information for care coordination processes • Initiating the reporting of clinical quality measures and public health information • Using information to engage patients and their families in their care

  13. Core and Menu Objectives • 24 meaningful use objectives.   14.
