  2. Stanza Same as a “verse” A paragraph of writing in a poem. These paragraphs are written as clusters of rhyming lines in traditional poetry. Also known as a stanza.

  3. What is “Rhyme”? When sounds match at the end of lines of poetry, it is considered rhyming (technically, it is end-rhyme).

  5. Rhyme Scheme The pattern of rhyme in a poem that is decided by assigning letters to the lines of the poem that rhyme. To decide on a rhyme scheme, you… assign a letter of the alphabet to all rhyming lines of poetry, starting with “A” when you find a second rhyme sound, you start with the next letter of the alphabet, “B” When you find a second rhyme sound you continue with the next letter And so on, and so on Twinkle, twinkle, little star How I wonder what you are Up above the world so high Like a diamond in the sky
