  1. Comm Arts-Day 6 (computers are not needed today) • Reflection • As you get your graphic organizer back from Friday please answer and do the following: • What did you do well? What can you improve on? Circle the objects in nature that you will compare yourself to for each character trait. (2 mins)

  2. Lesson Goal and Essential Question Lesson Goal: What is my relationship to nature? Essential Question: When should I use different literary techniques?

  3. Discussion Starter • When is imagery appropriate? When is figurative language appropriate? (2 minutes)

  4. FCAS for your poem (any questions?) • There are at least four examples of original figurative language based on personal qualities (highlighted) 40pts • Uses language from ALL five senses to evoke a response from the reader (underlined) 50pts • Uses appropriate poem form: stanzas and line breaks (At least five stanza, five lines each) 10pts

  5. Who I am… (Example Poem) • I am peaceful, • Like a gently, • flowing creek, • Passing through • The green forest. • I am as determined • as a goose, • Fighting the biting • cold, • To reach • The everlasting warm sands and sweet lakes • Filled with the saltiness of satisfaction.
