Branch: Judicial China has a four-level court system At the top is the Supreme People’s Court in Beijing Lower courts are the higher people’s courts in provinces, autonomous regions, and special municipalities intermediate people’s courts at the prefecture level Special courts handle matters affecting the military, railroad transportation, water transportation, and forestry.

Olympics "One World, One Dream” Promoted a green and high-tech Olympics After winning its 2001 bid to host the Olympic Games, China launched a massive seven-year effort to prepare for the event The 2008 Olympics will be among the most expansive ever held China invested nearly $40 billion in infrastructure

  14. Current Event The article from the Wall Street Journal, Asia’s New Arms Race, discusses simply the arms race currently in Asia. Even though the article talks about Asia as a whole it is important to know that China is one of the catalysts of the arms race, and in my opinion the most important one. While China’s current spending does not come close to the United States’, China’s was roughly $78 billion in 2010, while the United States’ was $150 billion in 2009. The defense budget of China, has increased by 358%, part of which has been invested into the design of the J-20 stealth jet fighter, which is said to rival the U.S.’ F-22.

  15. Current Event The military buildup that China is undergoing is a component of nationalism, China is letting its providences, Tibet for example that they will be staying part of China. More interesting is weather China will test its military power and attempt annex parts of India, Russia, Japan or Korea in an attempt posses enough natural resources to continue to feed its economic growth.
