Recruiting Competitiveness • Situation….. • Expanded enrollment and increased competition from other universities challenge Carolina's ability to maintain/improve student body quality • Challenge…. • Create a Task Force on Recruiting Competitiveness to help the University develop and implement a plan to maintain/improve Carolina's competitive edge • Progress…. • Report today from Chair Michael Kennedy

University Branding • Situation…. • Carolina has one of the most prestigious "brands" in higher education…but multiple constituencies make an integrated brand strategy increasingly complex • Challenge…. • Create a University Branding Task Force to assist with the University's ongoing evaluation of its branding strategy • Progress…. • University initiative deferred until Fall 2009
