WHO WE ARE • Merseyside-wide charity providing networking and support for refugee and asylum seeker communities, other voluntary sector groups and public sector organisations working with or for these communities. • Joined with LASAR – Liverpool Asylum Seeker And Refugee Partnership in 2005 to add to service and support provision • Administered by Merseyside Network for Change – focus on community empowerment; equal opportunites; working with faith communities; working with disadvantaged communities

WHAT WE DO • Information and signposting for refugees and asylum seekers • Provision of much needed “ESOL” ie English for Speakers of Other Languages – especially for those who are not allowed/not able to access statutory ESOL classes • Campaigning and advocacy to provide a voice for those seeking to integrate into new communities • Provision of employment and training support for refugees seeking work, including mentoring and advocacy • Partnership work and resettlement support • Mythbusting and addressing media hype

MORE OF WHAT WE DO • Development and management of a level 3 Interpreting qualification for bi-lingual refugees and migrant workers • Provision of specialist advice in governance and establishment of refugee and immigrant community groups • Annual celebration of Refugee Week; Anti-deportation support
