  2. FAQ’S • Does this go into the grade book? • YES! Two grades, one for your planning (20 points) and another for your essay (80 points) • 100 points total! Can I take it home and work on it? • No, all of your writing has to be done IN CLASS TODAY…remember, you have limited time during the HSPE.

FAQ’S • What needs to be included in my planning? • Evidence of putting ideas together before writing your essay response to the prompt • Can be in the form of a web, outline, list etc. • What do I do if I feel I have finished? • Staple your planning and essay together, planning on bottom. Then you may: • Read, draw, work on other homework, or listen to music silently. If you are listening to music your device must be out and on the table. Otherwise, it will be taken away.

  4. Todays Prompt • Everyone has days that they will always remember as being very special. Think about a special day that you have had. Write an essay telling why it was so special. • **Remember, when you describe to use sensory details, EXPLAIN why it was so special (support yourself by explaining WHY) • HIGHLIGHT YOUR THESIS STATEMENT…if you cannot, then you don’t have one! Where is your essay going????
