  1. E+C December 2013 version from TfL Peninsular3t.pdf NKR – New Kent rd NC – Newington Causeway LR – London rd StG – St Georges Rd Link – E+C Link Rd Very similar to Oct and Nov versions. Peninsularisation from the south. 2-way round approx track of roundabout. Ped underpasses replaced by surface crossings. Possible cyle path, dashed line, not on present plan. Section from NC to LR light controlled. Otherwise free-flowing except for ped crossing lights. Most ped crossings 2 stage. LR NC StG NKR Link

  2. Link Rd/St Georges Rd/Peninsula Rd Junction OK going south Going North, conflict between straight on cyclists and left turning motors is not resolved. At am peak Thurs 12 Dec, av. flows as follows: Left turning motors – 1 every 13 sec Straight on cycles – 1 every 6 secs

  3. E+C, present layout and collision stats Note many collisions on Link to StG corner, 5/11 serious collisions here. Data for 36 months period to 30 April 2012 42/92 (46%) collisions involved cyclists 3 of serious collisions at StG junction involved cyclists Approx 7 years ago a cyclist was killed at this location.

  4. At present all motors slow at give way line (- -)to check for traffic from right. When ped xing is green, there will be nothing to slow motors down. Note radius of corner is now larger – this is now a faster piece of road.

  5. 4. London Rd / Newington Causeway Section On peninsular road, light control anticlockwise at NC; light control clockwise at LR. LR and NC have traffic lights. No information from TfL on phasing of lights. 2. 5. 3. 1. • Exiting NC southbound is OK • From peninsula or LR, straight on cyclists are at risk from traffic turning into NC (left hook). • Similarly for straight on cyclists at LR, at risk from turning buses. • Cyclists exiting right from London Rd have to get across 2 motor traffic lanes on LR. • Cycle lane across junction only goes half way.

  6. October version had safer way for cyclists to turn right out of London Road October December
