Research Hypotheses • Project managers create awareness and act as conflict managers. • The quality of the source text plays a key role, serving as a good starting point. • Project managers feel responsible for linguistic accuracy, but not for content. • Project managers consider themselves outsiders (tilting at windmills).

Preliminary Results 2008 Implementation of a Project Management System • Practically only electronic source texts • Increased importance of system-induced/relevant electronic communication (e.g. no fax messages) • Reduction of languages of correspondence to English and German • Reduction of personal, individualized communication with suppliers and customers
