Clipper Yacht Race • Founded by Robin Knox-Johnston. • 40 000nm long. • 10 identical yachts all 68 feet long. • People from over 250 different nationalities compete. • 50% complete full circumnavigation the rest are legers. • 40 % of competitors have never sailed before racing. • Race Track completed in 15 races • Grand Prix scoring method

  12. ITL Tasman Challenge • Sailing solo from New Plymouth to Mooloolaba • Donated yacht ‘Cator of Maragret River’ • Only had the yacht 2 weeks before sailing it solo to NZ for race start. • Yacht is a Van de Stadt 37, • Aluminium cruiser.

  13. What’s Next? • First female to Circumnavigate Antarctica Solo • Secondary goal to beat the boys record • Current record set by Fedor Konyukhov • Record of 102 day 1 hour 35 min and 50 sec • Will compete as part of Antarctica Cup Ocean Race • Depart in Dec 2015
