  5. Misc Toolbar • Misc section of the toolbar includes: • Import File (see lesson 1) • Search

  6. Overview efficientC Toolbar • View • Refresh a claim summary list • Export to Excel all rows of a summary grid into an Excel spreadsheet • Save your current view setting • Load your current view settings

  7. Overview efficientC Toolbar • Selected Claims • View open selected claims from the list below in the claim detail viewer • Reassign selected claims to a different user. Claim must be assigned to you. • Move selected claims to a different workflow queue • Duplicate selected claims and assign it to the active user in the fail edit queue • Morph the selected claim from Inst to Prof or vice versa • Close the selected claim

Overview efficientC Toolbar • New claims • Inst creates a new institutional claim • Prof creates a new professional claim • Payer Status • Accept – accepts claim (s) that a payer has received Accepts claim (s) in the system • Reject – reject claim (s) that a payer has rejected.   9. Search • To Perform a Search • Click on the search button, from the efficientC toolbar • Claim Search Parameters – screen opens

Search Parameters • Several search methods available • In this example we are searching for Patient Account Number 9208638S1C25* • The asterisk at the end; tells the system to include “all patient accounts” with 9208638S1C25. • Example: 9208638S1C25-1, 9208638S1C25-2. • Date ranges may also be included in the search.

  11. Search Results • Result of Search • A new tab is created “Search Results” • Search returned all Patient Account Numbers with 9208638S1C25

  12. Search Parameters • In this example we are searching for; • Patient Name: Mickey • Patient last Name: Mous* • Data range of Statement: from and to dates 12/1/2011 to 8/28/2012

  13. Search Results • Search Results • 12 claim records with patient name Mickey Mouse returned. • Statement date 6-8-2012 • 10 claims are closed • 2 claims are conflicting

  14. Search Review • Search Methods: • Several methods to perform a search. • Use asterisks for the last few numbers or characters • Date Range(s) • Provider • Claim Status: • Billed\Unbilled • Status Tab (Closed, Accepted, Billed, etc.) • Search multiple criteria or specific information

  15. Customize Views You can re-position columns to save time and effort. Problem:Carol verifies the claim types after each import. For every claim she has to scroll right – twice – to see the Claim Type column. Solution: Carol customizes her view to position certain columns together . • Right click the column header you want to move • Drag and drop the column to the new location • ClickSaveto save the view • Note: Views can be customized and saved for each tab.

  16. Customize Views Success! Carol moved the Claim Type column nearer to the left side of the screen so she no longer has to scroll right to see the column. Carol’s claims completed rate has improved since the change.

  17. Customize Grouping Problem: Carol sorts claims by type, then by patient name. After clicking the Claim Type column, she has to click Patient Last Name to sort again. Solution: Carol customizes her view to position those columns together . You can group columns to simplify sorting. • Right click the column header you want to move • Drag and drop the column to the new location • ClickSaveto save the view • Note: Views can be customized and saved for each tab.

  18. Customize Grouping Success! Carol grouped the Claim Type column, the Patient Last Name column, and the Patient First Name column together. Carol can quickly sort claims to work more efficiently.

Remember . . . • Search: • Several search options are available: • by status: closed, accepted, billed, failed edit, etc. • by specified data: date range, provider, import ID, etc. • by name or number: substitute asterisks for numbers or characters to search for similar claims in a wide range • Customize views: • Drop and drag columns to the main view area to save time by avoiding excessive scrolling. • Group by columns • Drag column (s) into the blue bar area for easier sorting • Save to reuse • Save your customized displays for convenience • Create customized displays for each efficientC tab to simplify tasks
