  1. Mock Test 5 (2012-2013) Detailed Analysis

  2. Introduction Mock Test 5 follows the pattern of Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) wherein the students are subjected to the same level of difficulty both in terms of question type and level. The mock test comprises of five sections with a total of 200 questions. A student is expected to attempt this test in an actual test like environment wherein he/she has 120 minutes to complete the test and thus need to schedule his/her time accordingly.

  3. English This section was of moderate level of difficulty. The section consisted of: • 1 RC Passage (Total 10 questions) • 5 questions on Word Spelling • 5 questions on Foreign Words • 5 questions on Idioms and Phrases • 10 questions on Prepositions (Fill in the blanks) • 5 questions on Para Jumbles and Sentence Jumbles (4 +1)

  5. General Knowledge This mock test has 50 questions in all and the general difficulty level of the test is Moderate, though some questions are hard as well. The test comprises of broadly two sections viz. Static GK and Current GK. • The questions from the Static GK are generalized and based on the different fields of the Static GK. In general, the ratio of Static GK and Current GK is 20:30 but here 22 questions are from Static GK. • There are 28 questions from Current GK focusing towards the important national and international events, persons, places etc. and they are primarily to let students aware with the current affairs.

  7. Mathematics This section of the test was of easy to moderate level of difficulty. The section consisted of: • 1 question on Number System • 5 questions on Algebra • 11 questions on Arithmetic • 1 question on Geometry • 2 questions on Modern Math

  9. Logical Reasoning This section tested two areas of Logical Reasoning: • Verbal Reasoning (30 questions): This section was of moderate level of difficulty. The section consisted of: • 7 questions on Reason and Assertion • 7 questions on Statement - Assumption • 6 questions on Analogies • 5 questions on Statement - Course of Action • 5 questions on Statement - Argument • Analytical Reasoning (10 Questions):This section was of tough level of difficulty. This section consisted of: • 3 questions on Arrangements • 2 questions on Blood Relations • 4 questions on Coding • 1 question on direction

  12. Legal Aptitude This section had 50 questions on Legal Aptitude comprising of both Legal Reasoning as well as Legal Knowledge. The section consisted of: • Legal Reasoning (30 questions) • Legal Knowledge (20 questions) Overall, the section was of Moderate difficulty level. The Legal Reasoning section specifically tested the ability of students to understand and interpret the legal principles and application of the same to the factual matrix to reach the best answer. And, in order to answer the questions based on Legal Knowledge, students were expected to have some basic knowledge of the Constitution, general legal principles and to be acquainted with other legal developments around.

  13. Details • Legal Reasoning: The Legal Reasoning of Mock 5 was very much attainable. Two subjects, Torts and Criminal Law dominated the major part of legal reasoning including but not limited to cluster questions. There were 5 questions from Contract law reasoning and further, few questions from Constitutional law and General Legal Principles were spotted in the mock. A stalwart approach towards legal reasoning makes it a very scoring sub-section of the paper. • Legal Knowledge: The Legal Knowledge part of mock 5 was dominated by Constitutional Law. Pertinent topics from where the questions appeared were Latin legal terminologies, writs, general principles of law and Constitutional Provisions regarding various political posts etc.
