  2. why ? • Need an identifiable entity for the CLIC physics and detector study. It has to have a “name”. • Need to define who is in charge. • Need to define a small management team, which allows to share some of the managerial tasks, including the various tasks of contact with LC bodies. • Need a little “steering group” with some broader representation and including the working group leaders. • Need a mechanism of rotating roles. • Need a way in which institutes can join the study in a (semi-)formal way. • Need some formal way for members to give direction to the study. • Need to provide an answer to the question “who is working on this?”. • Need to enter the discussion on the future LC organisation with an identifiable entity and clarity about the way it is organised. • The CLIC physics and detector study has a “host lab”. This is a huge advantage for us and we want this to appear clearly in the upcoming LC discussions. • While ILC has a global representation, this is not realistic for CLIC. Currently we cannot achieve a proper representation in the various bodies, because the “European quota” for representation are already occupied.
