  1. LANE FROST(October 12, 1963 - July 30, 1989) This page is dedicated in memory of Lane Frost.

  2. If You Didn’t Know Who Lane Frost Was Lane Frost was a man of kindness. He was the best bull rider in his time. Even though he died in a horrible Bull riding accident he is still looked up to as a hero. Looked at as a inspiration to your future Lane looked at you as a person. No more, no less. Lane felt everyone was entitled to an equal amount of his time and no one ever felt left out or excluded when he was around.

  3. Some More Happiness About Him He had a way of making you feel like you'd known him your whole life. Lane competed for the love of the sport and the thrill of the ride. His parents loved what he did but where worried sick about him getting hurt or dying.

  4. Red Rock Red Rock was a legendary bucking bull. Red Rock remained unridden throughout his career. Bucking off 309 cowboys which included such names as Tuff Hedeman and Ted Nuce(*1). The challenge, which was held after Red Rock's retirement from active competition, was won by Lane Frost, 4 to 3. Not only was Red Rock the only bull never ridden during active competition, but until the day Red Rock died of a stroke in 1994, no one other than Lane would ever successfully ride the bull for the full 8 seconds again.

  5. Lane Frost I rode for Lane I got to where Lane was I was his best friend I couldn’t just take my win I had to give this win to Lane I rode for 16 seconds, one for me and one for you I knew this was his dream so I helped him accomplish this I know your not here but, I did this for you Lane I could hear your voice I could hear you thank me in my ear I knew you’d be proud I know you are no longer here, but your laughter of happiness is like it never left I need you to know you’re a hero I need you to know you’re an inspiration I did it for you I love you Dear friend may God give you a hug for me and tell my story for you By: Jessie Friars Tuff riding for Lane 1989 NFR

  6. Cowboy Is His Name There's a hundred years of history and a hundred before that. All gathered in the thinkin' Goin on beneath his hat. The cold flame burns within him 'Til his skin's as cold as ice and the dues he payed to get here Are worth every sacrifice. All the miles spent sleepy drivin' All the money down the drain. All the "if I's" and "nearly's" All the bandages and pain. All the female tears left dryin' All the fever and the fight, are just a small down payment On the ride he makes tonight. It's guts and love and glory, One mortals chance at fame. His legacy is rodeo and Cowboy is his name. ~Baxter Black
