General History • Dartmouth is an ivy league school founded in 1769. • The founder of the school was named Reverend Eleazer Wheelock. • Established to educate native Americans • In 1972 the college became coeducational. • Nearly 1,000 Native American alumni. • Governor Wentworth provided the land the university was built on. • Their colors are green and white and their formal mascot is The Big Green. But the students have created their own mascot called Keggy the Keg

  3. General History • T’was the subject of a landmark US court case in 1819. Dartmouth vs. Woodward. The college prevailed against the state of New Hampshire which sought to amend Dartmouth’s charter- one of the most formative and important documents in US constitutional history.

  4. Tuition Rate And Living Expenses • Undergraduate tuition for the 2012-2013 academic year will be $43,782 - an increase on 4.9% (or $2,046) over the previous year’s tuition rate. Undergraduate tuition, room, board, and fees for the 12-13 academic year will be $57,998, a 4.8% increase.

  5. Student SAT And ACT Scores • Admitted Dartmouth students scored an average of 670/780 on their verbal SAT test, 690/790 on their math SAT test, 690/790 on their writing SAT test and 30/34 on their ACTs.
