Second, how do you think that history will view you? As a villain, a hero, a patriot, how? Finally, what do you feel was the most important factor leading up to the American Revolution and why? I influenced the eventual split between England and the Colonies by giving the memorable and inspiring speech “Give me Liberty or give me death!” I think history will view me as a patriot, because I inspired the people of the American colonies to break free! I believe my speech was the most important factor in the American Revolution because it really inspired the common man to stand up for his Liberties. Many people like to say my speech began the Revolution.
