  2. Organizational set up • Organization is headed by Chairman, • Policy frame work is given by the BOD, which has nine (9) members . Chairman of the organization is also head of the Board. • Board members comprises of three nominees from Government and five from private corporate sectors (Multinationals & Corporate entities), • There are four operational free zones with one regional office,

Basic Information of EPZA • It is a tax free industrial estate working under the Ministry of Industries & Production , Government of Pakistan, • It is a self finance organization, • It has strong income base, high financial reserves, • Knowledgeable work force, • Automation of Revenue Collection System(covering all income streams),

  4. f) There are five operational departments comprising of Finance, Facilities, Engineering, Administration & security, Investment Promotion. g) There are mixed employment pattern i.e., permanent & out sourced (146 permanent & 269 outsourced),

  5. Background of Problems • Centralization of Powers, • Absences of career planning , • Delayed / seniority based Promotion, • No performance based incentives system, • No policy of job enrichment,

  6. Issues arising out of Problems • Low level of motivation in employees, • Non- professional attitude towards the work, • Deteriorating efficiency,

  7. Strength • Self financed organization • Job Security, • Experienced staff due to unique organization, • Incentives to employees and their families,

  8. Weakness • Inefficiency in work performance, • Delayed/ seniority based promotion, • Job security ( No fear of losing job)

  9. Opportunity • Export will grow, • Flow of foreign direct investment, • High Contribution to Govt. exchequer ( receipts of taxes)

  10. Threats • Geo political situation, • Regional competition for attracting foreign investment ( among other EPZ’s )

  11. Solution • HR DIVISION NEEDS TO DEVISE CAREER PLANNING FOR THE EMPLOYEES, • DEVOLUTION OF DECISION MAKING, • JOB ENRICHMENT PLAN, • TRAINING AND ENHANCEMENT OF EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES,
