  2. What is the purpose of a Grand opening • To Celebrate the launch of your new business • Let people know what you do • Key to a successful Opening is: Fun - Simple - Magical - Party Atmosphere • What kind of party do you normally have? Braai, Cheese & wine, tea & cake

  3. Choosing a Day/Time • Check the date for obvious things like Rugby finals etc that may hamper Show-ups • Saturday afternoons or Thursday / Friday evenings work well • Don’t try accommodate everybody you can have more than 1 Launch for different friends and family

  4. The invitation • Phone calls work best and can be followed up by an email or sms • Think of how you would invite a friend to your birthday • If you invite 40, 20 will be able to make it and 10-15 may show up

  5. E.g. Script to invite • “Hi John I am calling to invite you to my party, I have just launched my new business and we are having a cheese and wine ,tea and cake, braai etc” give date time, “will you be able to make it , it wont be fun without you!” • If they ask what's the business about? • You will see on…. I have many calls to make so I cant talk now see you…

  6. Things to have / bring • For the ladies a bunch flowers and a bottle of champagne (could be non alcoholic) • For men champagne and biltong • Big Chocolate cake (very NB!) • Simple snacks, ask people to bring bottle wine etc • NO product display(its party not a presentation) • IBP and products inside

  7. On the day • Welcome everybody thank them for coming tell them why you started your business • Hand over to your partner/friend/sponsor who will tell their story hand you flowers and champagne and congratulate you on your business • Propose a toast and pop the champagne

  8. On the day • Ask the group to be the eyes and ears in the market place • Let me show you what “Mary will be doing” • Show before and after pictures • “who do you know” that’s needs to improve their health, energy or sports performance • Any questions? • Two shakes a day tab x3 and cut back,flavours

  9. Ending the “presentation” • Leave photos on the table • Mention the company is expanding and needs people who want to make R6000-R8000 part time if you know anybody please let us know

  10. The next day • Give everybody a call and thank them for coming (same as after a wedding) • If they have any interest in the products or business and did not say anything on the night this is when they will ask-invite them to an HOM, STS or send them a CD
