  7. Budget Issues • Problem: RISD at $1.50 cap • Goal: Minimize impact to classroom • Option 1: Cut programs • Option 2: Bond election – shift funding • Option 3: Alternative funding (i.e. grants, entitlement programs)

  12. Our Technology Plan • Refresh installed base of desktop, laptop and server computers over a 5 Year Period

  13. Outsourcing Solution • 5 Year agreement directly with Compaq • Standardized equipment • Incorporate legacy equipment maintenance • Funding from bonds • RISD reduced operating expenditures by $1.2M
