  2. History • 1937- Hamden L. Forkner developed the FBLA concept. • 1940- National Council for Business Education accepted official FBLA sponsorship. • 1942- First high school chapter was developed in Tennessee. • 1949- Georgia received state charter. • 1979- The Professional Division began. • 1994- FBLA Middle Level began.

  3. President • Conduct and preside over meetings. • Keep in close touch with members and advisors. • Encourage member participation.

  4. Secretary • Take minutes and provide copies for advisors and officers. • Record attendance at all meetings. • Assist the president in developing a chapter handbook.

  5. Officer • Provide a professional environment for members. • Include all members in a dynamic program of work.

  6. Historian • Maintain accurate, up to date history. • Include a state newsletter. • Include an annual chapter activity report.
