  2. Idukki Arch Dam A parabolic marvel, aloft at 550 ft. and spread out over 650 ft., receives visitors at the Kuravan and Kurathi Mountains in Idukki. Idukki Arch Dam is the second dam in the world and first of its kind in all of Asia. The sight itself is overwhelming, considering the sheer greatness of the structure and the purpose it serves. Banasura dam is the largest earthen dam in India and the second largest dam in Asia. The environs are pristine with a cool wind opening up a valley full of huge slopes, crystal clear waters, a wildlife sanctuary and a plethora of blossoming plants.

  5. Malampuzha Dam Malampuzha Dam is the second-largest reservoir dam in Kerala. It is located near Palakkad with the scenic hills in the background. It is a mixture of a masonry dam with a length of 1849 m. The dam is 377.5 feet height and crosses the Malampuzha River. There is a grid of two canal systems that serve the dam’s reservoir of hectares. The canal systems serve to irrigate farmland while the reservoir provides drinking water to Palakkad and surrounding townships.
