  1. Taiwan Trip MY EXPERIENCE AT DEGUANG CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL RALPH AMAYO 安若磊 11/16.2012

  2. SCHOOL LIFE校園生活 Life at Deguang School is very different from school in America. The friendly ambassadors showed us all the unique and interesting classes activities that the school had to offer

  3. HOSTS主機 The Hosts were very warm and receptive of us, and showed all the interesting aspects of Taiwan, and fed us some incredible food. I also learned a lot about the culture and history of Taiwan, something that I was not privy to before.

  4. FOOD食物 The food in Tainan is some of the best I've ever had. Everything I sampled during my stay left a great taste in my mouth. Even the dumplings we created with the international students left me wanting to make more. It is an aspect that I will definitely miss back in America.

  5. NIGHT MARKET夜市 The night markets in Tainan were one of the most interesting things I had the pleasure of experiencing . All the different kinds of food from Taiwan and other Asian cultures were both delicious and inexpensive. My favorite food would have to be the fried skip with egg on a stick, although I can not remember the proper name for it.

  6. TEMPLES寺廟 The temples and places of worship we visited were some of the most beautiful structures I have ever seen. They are a great representation of the culture that Tainan had to offer.

  7. SENSE OF COMMUNITY社區 The trip really brought everyone closer together, and we really integrated well with the Deguang students. We became fast friends and they helped us learn so much about life in Taiwan. They will be sorely missed when we go back to America.

  8. WEATHER 天氣 The weather in Taiwan came as a shock to me, and it took some time to get adjusted to it. It was a big change to go from 50 degree Chicago weather to the immense heat of Taiwan. Thankfully, school store was very accommodating, stocked with cool drinks and clothing, I got used to weather relatively quickly.

  9. CALLIGRAPHY書法 This was the definitely one of the more fun activities we did while at the school. I had so much fun just practicing the different strokes and types of characters I could create, Although hard at first, I think I created a halfway decent depiction of my name in the end.

  10. GOODBYE 台灣再見 • After my stay in Tainan and Deguang, I will miss it incredibly. The people, the culture, and especially the food will something that I will only get to experience probably once in my life. There are so many aspects in Taiwan that you can’t experience anywhere else in the world, and I hope that I will be able to one day return here.再見! Photos by Petty Wu 吳老師
