  7. When You Are Tardy: - Enter quietly. • Excused: Place your pass on my desk. • Unexcused: Sign the tardy log by the door (name, date, reason for tardy). - Quietly have a seat and take out your materials.

  8. Getting Your Attention: I will…- stand at the front of the class.- raise my hand.- wait for everyone to stop talking, stop moving, and face me.*- begin speaking. *For each tally I put on the board, we will stay for 10 seconds after the bell rings. (10 sec/tally)

  9. Heading: • Place on everything you turn in. • There will be a 5 point (or relative) deduction if it is missing. NameDateMrs. StoopsBiology # (1,3,4)

  10. Finishing Work Early: - Wait quietly until the next instruction is given. - You may: check your work, read, do make-up work, work on homework, or sit quietly.

  11. If You Are Absent: - Ask a classmate what you missed, for notes, what the homework was, etc… - Ask me for any handouts at the beginning of the class or as soon as it is appropriate. - It is your responsibility to find out what you missed and to make it up.

  12. Leaving the Room: • Please let me know as you enter if you plan to be picked up or leave early. • If called out or leaving early, quietly pack your materials and leave. • You are responsible for what you miss. - If there is an emergency, please get my attention appropriately and I will assist you.

  13. Bathroom: - No bathroom without a pass (in your agenda). - Pass must be filled out by you and must be signed by me. - You have 2 bathroom passes per 9 weeks. If you don’t use them, you get a raffle entry!

  14. Turning in Papers: - If the board says or if it is a late assignment, put it in the “turn it in” bin on the front counter. • If I collect work, pass it to the front. I will collect it as I walk by. • Heading must be on all work you turn in.

  15. Classroom Discussion: • Please participate. • I want to hear what you have to say. • Raise your hand and wait to be called on. • Make all questions and comments relevant to the current discussion. • If your question is off topic, write it down and ask it later.

  16. Moving Around the Room: - You must ask permission by raising your hand before getting out of your seat. - Do not ask to get up during a classroom discussion or while taking notes. - Get the supplies you need (paper, tissues, pencil sharpener, hand sanitizer…) as you walk in to class. If you need it during class, you must ask permission.

  17. Extra Copies of Handouts: - All students get one free copy from me. - All work is posted on my class website. - You must print additional copies on your own time (at home, Panther Period…). - Printing is 10¢ per page in the library. • You may copy an assignment by hand if it is legible. My school website: www.ashn.sumterschools.org
