  2. Business law includes a complex web of state, federal and municipal statutes. These laws work together to ensure predictability and fairness.

  4. Contract Law Contract Law Contract law is a broad field that governs the conduct of business in many areas including contract drafting, assignment of rights, transactions, delegation of duties, what agreements have to be in writing, conditions to a contract, breach and remedies.

  5. Intellectual Property Law Intellectual property law includes patents and trademarks. Just as real property law is concerned with rights relating to a piece of property, intellectual property is concerned with rights relating to products of the mind.

  6. Corporate Law Corporate law governs formation of corporate businesses. State corporate codes provide rules and regulations regarding articles of information, bylaw, boards of directors, and other elements involved in forming a corporation.

  7. Employment law governs the rights and duties between employers and workers. Also referred to as labor law, these rules are primarily designed to keep workers safe and make sure they are treated fairly, although laws are in place to protect employers’ interests as well.
