  15. Objectives Mandated by the Government, the Kuwaiti Public Institution For Social Security (PIFSS) has developed a strategy to meet with the growing demand for ICT professionals. In cooperation with IBM, PIFSS is planning to implement an extensive training program to upgrade and enhance the Kuwaiti workforce to meet with the future challenges and opportunities. In 2009 the Kuwaiti Workforce Development Program launched a four year plan with the vision of achieving several goals: • Localization: Currently a large proportion of IT workers in Kuwait are expatriates. Localization will help increase the number of domestic professionals in the medium and long terms. • Development of the Kuwaiti ICT industry: There is an increase in the number of ICT companies operating in Kuwait, which in turn is increasing demand for top-notch ICT professionals • Creating new job opportunities in the private sector: This will provide Kuwaiti fresh graduates more career choices and opportunities outside the government sector. • Transforming Kuwait into a Financial Hub: By providing young professionals with all the necessary skills, tools and resources Kuwait will become an influential financial hub in the Middle East.

Program Highlights Web 2.0 Applications Development - Building Blocks • Level 1:Academic Training • 25 weeks /7 hours per day/125 Days/A total of 900 training hours • (8:00 A.M – 3:00 P.M) – 5 days per week (Sundays through Thursdays) • Level2 :On Job training • Practical training will take place at organizations nominated by IBM in Egypt. • Practical training lasts three to six weeks scheduled to start upon completion of classroom training. • Trainees will be grouped into teams of three to five under the supervision of an expert from IBM. This program qualifies graduates to pass the course and attain their accredited certificates. Soft and Business Skills Final Project ( 8 weeks ) Phase 1 OO and Java Programming ( 8 weeks ) C# and Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 ( 8 weeks ) Concepts and Basic Knowledge ( 6 Weeks ) On Job Training (real work environment) 2

  27. How to Join ? Registration can be done either: • 1. Online at: www.pifss-graduationproject.com • 2. At Institution Premises: “The Public Institution for Social Security - Mirqab – Al-Sour Street- 13th floor”. Conditions : • Kuwaiti Citizens only • Bachelor degree in Information Technology from an accredited university with a maximum of one year experience. • Minimum GPA of 2.76 or very good • Excellent command of the English language • Passing the personal interview and any required admission exams • The training program is full-time. Participants are not allowed to work for any organization while enrolled in the program. • Abiding by program’s rules and regulations
