  1. CC InternationalOlympic Game Time Volunteer Program August 6 – 19 or August 6 – 26 , 2008

Program Outline • CC International is recruiting 160 volunteers to participate in the Olympic Game Time Volunteer Program. • Volunteers will be organized into teams of ten each with a trained volunteer leader. Note: We are not in any way authorized by, sponsored by, or otherwise affiliated the Beijing Olympic Committee or with any national or international amateur sports organization or governing body.

Basic Requirements 1) Ability to commit to complete volunteer training March – July 2008 (2 hours per week) and travel to Beijing August of 2008. 2) Born prior to (but including) June 30, 1990, and in good health; 3) Abide by China's laws and regulations; 4) Able to participate in all trainings and related activities

  5. Pre Project Training February – August 2008 (2 – 3 hrs per week) • 60 hours of Chinese Language training • CPR , AED and First Aid Red Cross Certification • Olympic Volunteer Training using the Beijing Olympic Volunteer Manual • 20 hours training Chinese culture and laws • 20 hours training to understand Beijing transportation and medical systems • 20 hours training regarding Olympic events, procedures and venues • Background checks

  9. Accommodations Ten person volunteer teams will share apartments in Beijing. Apartments all have: • Three bedrooms • Two bathrooms • Full Kitchen and appliances • Hot water • Air Conditioning • Cable television • High Speed Internet • Telephone • Washer for clothing

  11. Meals • Breakfast will be available each morning prior to starting volunteer work, • Lunch will be packed and brought to volunteer assignments, • Dinner will be served each evening at the end of the volunteer day.

  12. Dinners at Local Restaurants Teams will also dine out occasionally • Peking Duck Dinner • Dumpling Dinner • Hot Pot Dinner • Typical Chinese Dinner

Volunteer Projects Teams will: • Work 4 days and take 2 days off • Be available as emergency first aid responders if needed. • Conduct Olympics related research developed by Dr. Drane at USM • Provide support to Olympic spectators staying at youth hostels and 2 and 3 star hotels • Provide support to Olympic spectators at public information stations • Complete environmental projects in support of the Green Olympics • Additional activities to be determined

  14. Teams will be capable of First Response in the event of an emergency and will be equipped with cell phones, first aid kits, and AEDs All Teams Equipped with AED

  15. Green Olympics • Volunteers will coordinate with Greenhouse Environmental Protection Center a Beijing Based NGO to complete various environmental projects

  18. Academic Credit Dr. Dan Drane Assistant Director of the School of Human Performance and Recreation at the University of Southern Mississippi is the program’s academic advisor. Contact Dr. Drane for credit options.

  19. Cultural Exploration

  20. Volunteers will work on projects for 4 days followed by 2 days off. During off days volunteers will: Visit the Great Wall Visit the Summer Palace Visit the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square Attend Olympic Sporting events Hutong Neighborhood Tour Visit various Buddhist Temples Visit Beijing Night Market and Wangfujing Street Visit the Tea Shop and see Tea Demonstration Visit the Silk Factory Explore Beijing
