  1. EF 151Final Team Project The Power Switch for the Lazy Student

  2. Team Members • Brittany Arnold • Aerospace Engineering • Paul Fox • Industrial Engineering • Samantha Koelman • Industrial Engineering • Adam Tuesburg • Nuclear Engineering

  3. Purpose: • Our device was designed to help a student turn his/her stereo on when he or she firsts get back from a long day of classes on the hill. The student has no remote control and it is too far away to reach while sitting in their chair. So this device turns the stereo on with just a pull of a string.

  4. Step 1: • Pull a string to get device started. • Releases a marble.

  5. Step 2: • Marble rolls down a chute. • Marble sets off the trap. • Trap releases and pulls a string to release the holding peg.

  6. Step 3: • Holding peg is pulled out. • Rubber band is released.

  7. Step 4: • Rubber Band shoots the rod. • Rod is pushed with enough force to turn on the stereo.

  8. Step 5: • Stereo is turned on. • Student can now enjoy listening to his favorite radio station.

  12. Conclusions: • Overall the device was successful • It is possible to build a device that uses three different energy forms.
