  4. Why Are They Angry? Read the story assigned to you. In your groups, brainstorm and come up with the reasons why the characters are angry. 1 2 3 back exit next

  5. Why Are They Angry (1)? Azman has been trying very hard for the past one hour to explain a mathematical problem to his classmate, Xiaoming. However, Xiaoming cannot seem to understand Azman’s explanation. Azman feels frustrated that he cannot seem to get his point across to Xiaoming, who also does not seem to be paying much attention. “ Why are you not listening to me? I don’t want to waste my time anymore. You do it on your own!” Azman stood up, kicked his chair over and left. 1 2 3 back exit next

  6. Why Are They Angry(2)? Mei Ling comes from a well-to-do family and has always got what she wants. Her friend has just got a new pair of roller blades for her birthday. Mei Ling wants a pair just like her friend’s. However, her father refuses to get her the roller blades. He explains to her that roller blading is too dangerous a sport for a young girl like her. “ I will get my roller blades! I hate you! If you love me, you will buy me roller blades! You’re unfair - I’m not going to talk to you ever again!” Mei Ling screams and slammed her room door shut. 1 2 3 back exit next

  7. Why Are They Angry(3)? Siva has not been selected for the school’s football team. He has been practising very hard and thinks however, that he has a good chance of making the team. Siva was leaving the school after the trials when he met Jian Zhi who greeted him cheerfully with a friendly smack on the back. “ What do you think you’re doing?! And don’t smile at me like that!” Siva snapped and stomped away, leaving Jian Zhi puzzled at what he has done wrong. 1 2 3 back exit next

  8. Help Them! Now that you know why the characters are angry, put yourself in their shoes and suggest how you should have reacted given the same situations. In your groups, present your suggestions to your class. 1 2 3 back exit next

At any given moment, there are many emotions in our minds.
