  7. Opportunities for Credit • Seniors deficient in credits need full day schedule • Seniors will meet with their counselor to develop a recovery plan

  10. Military • Recruiters visit monthly during both lunches by cafeteria • Many different programs of service ROTC National Guard

  11. Community Colleges • Apply online in Spring • Take Placement Test • Free • Testing Center at Community College • DO NOT NEED ACT/SAT TEST • Meet with a community college advisor to get schedule • Final Senior Transcript –request at senior checkout

  12. University Application Process • In State Applications • Apply Online • $25 -NAU; $50 for ASU & U of A • Grand Canyon Univ - Free • May apply without SAT/ACT scores • Requires an Official Transcript • Transcript Request Forms in Career Center or DVHS.dvusd.org

  13. Application Deadlines • ASU – February 1 • Barrett Honors (ASU) – Nov. 15 • U of A – October 1 (Decision by 11/1) • NAU – March 1 • GCU – December 1

  15. ACT/SAT Test Information • ACT- 36 points possible – 22 is average • Tested on English, Math, Reading & Science Reasoning • SAT -800 per section – 1040 is average • Tested on Critical Reading, Math, & Writing (only scores that are used are Reading & Math) • Superscoring

  16. ACT / SATTest Information • Tests should be taken ASAP! • Tests can be retaken - colleges will take the best scores. • Register Online • Test scores can be sent even after you have applied. • DVHS does NOT send scores; must come from testing center

  17. College Night 2014 • September 2014 • 6:00pm – 8:00pm • ASU West • Schools attending: • ASU, NAU, U of A, Embry-Riddle, • Grand Canyon Univ., Glendale CC. • Paradise Valley CC., Southwestern College, Yavapai College, etc.

  19. NCAA • To participate in Division I or II sports: • Youmust be registeredwith the NCAA Clearinghouse • Apply “On-Line” ASAP • $70 to apply • Request Transcript to be sent • SAT/ACT Scores must be sent from testing center
