Jesus Brings Definition, Directness, DistinctnessWith the Light of His Word • John 4:23-24 • 23 But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. 24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.

Worship is In-truth • “True Worship” • John 4:23-24 - 23 But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. 24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. • “Vain Worship” • Matthew 15:7-9 - 7 You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said: 8 “‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; 9 in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’”

Worship is In-truth • “Ignorant Worship” • Acts 17:23 - 23 For while I was passing through and examining the objects of your worship, I also found an altar with this inscription, ‘TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.’ Therefore what you worship in ignorance, this I proclaim to you. (NASB) • “Will Worship” • Colossians 2:23 - 23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body: not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh. (KJV)

  11. True Worship • Authorized • Leviticus 10:1-3 - Nadab and Abihu • Genesis 6:14 - 14 Make yourself an ark of gopher wood.Make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and out with pitch.

  12. Authorized • 1 Corinthians 10:11 - 11 Now these things happened to them as an example, but they were written down for our instruction, on whom the end of the ages has come. • Romans 15:4a - 4 For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction

True Worship • Acted On • 1 Thessalonians 2:13 - 13 And we also thank God constantlyfor this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers. • 3 John 4 - 4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
