  2. Location • About 150 miles away, 2 hours and 40 minutes by car. • Urban.

  3. Size • There are around 36,000 students. • 356 acre campus.

  4. Environment • Co-ed, no religious affiliation. • Size of Los Angeles: 10 million.

  5. Admission requirements • Minimum eligibility: Using the CSU eligibility index (SAT score+ 800xCumulative GPA), must have a score of 3200. • For the ACT: (10xACT Composite Score) + (200xCumulative GPA)

  6. expenses • First year Tuition with Room and Board: $18,764. Four years: $75,056. • Total budget for one year: $24,916. Total for four years: $99,664.

  7. Financial aid/scholarships • Deadline: January 1st to March 2nd for priority. Must have a FAFSA. • Percentage of students receiving aid (as of 2008-2009) was 66% • Scholarships offered: Northridge Scholarship, Matador Scholarship.

  8. housing • The Suites at University Park houses two people with a semi-private bathroom. For freshmen and returning students there are The Apartments at University Park, the arrangements are relatively the same, except the two bedrooms house four students. • Each group of 16 students has a “hub.” • Deposit: $275

  9. Food plan • Meal Plans: 10 meal Flex 700, 12 meal Flex 500, 14 meal Flex 300, 5 meal Flex 300, 7 meal Flex 600. (All indicated for meals per week, Flex=Dining Dollars for individual campus food units).

  10. facilities • Academic-Delmar T. Oviatt Library, Donald E. Branchs Planetarium, Center of Achievement, Valley Performing Arts Center. • Recreational-Aquatic pool, Fitness center

  11. activities • Clubs and Organizations are sponsored by the University Student Union Inc., (which hosts poker tournaments, concerts, comedy shows, art exhibits, movies, lectures, dances, outdoor activities, sporting events, crafts, museum visits). • Current Athletics: Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Tennis, Soccer, Track and Field, Water Polo. • Current Intramurals: Basketball, Floor Hockey, Soccer, Volleyball.

  13. academics • My major, (music), is offered. CSU Northridge is accredited by WASC (The Western Association of Schools and Colleges). • The student-faculty ratio is 20:1, with an average class size of 30.
