  1. Why did the Europeans explore? • 3 G’s God (convert people to Christianity- specifically Catholic) Glory- to explore as much as possible to be able to brag to the other European countries, Gold- to find riches in gold, silver, gems, spices, silk and other luxury items

  2. What is an Explorer? • One who searches for something or someplace new for a specific purpose

  3. Middleman • A trader who buys goods and then sells them to others for a profit; makes the demand and price or items to go up

  4. What did the Europeans need to get the items? • A shorter trade route to Asia, the source of the items- so begin exploring to find that.
