TOT to FCO –Pedagogical Module To be fully competent in teaching drivers Instructors should • Master the 3 key subjects of EU directive 2003/59/EC • Take into account drivers’ previous work experience • Vary techniques and methods • Check understanding through practical exercises and reviews • Evaluate to ensure that the objectives have been reached • Undergo a technical & pedagogical refresher course (c) IRU Academy 2011

TOT to FCO –Pedagogical Module To enable instructors to deliver training successfully Promotrans The module promotes interactive pedagogy • Active teaching methods, techniques • Relevant pedagogical materials, teaching aids and tools • Practical exercises related to drivers’ work environment (c) IRU Academy 2011

TOT to FCO –Pedagogical Module To encourage Drivers’ participation Instructors should favour active teaching methods • Questioning – appeal to the drivers’ knowledge • Demonstrating – e.g. describe a “real-life” accident • Practising – e.g. ask drivers to fill in the accident report (c) IRU Academy 2011
