  2. Aptitude Aptitude is the natural ability to learn something quickly and do it well. The girl had aptitude in choreography.

  3. Complacent If you are complacent, you don’t think that you need to worry or do anything about a situation. The girls were complacent while they were bullying another girl.

  4. Pronouncement Pronouncements are formal orders or announcements. At the horse race the man called out the winning horses.

  5. Intricate Something that is intricate is complicated or difficult because it has many details or small parts. The painter’s painting was very intricate.

  6. Foist If you foist something on people, you force it on them. On the movie “How The Grinch Stole Christmas.” the old ladies foisted food to the Grinch.

  7. Arbiter An arbiter is someone who settles disagreements. The social worker was the arbiter when the two girls were arguing.

  8. Indulgent If you are indulgent, you enjoy giving others what they want. The butler was indulgent towards the girl.

  9. Raucous Something that is raucous is loud and rowdy. The lady didn’t like the raucous coming from upstairs.

  10. Dupe When you dupe others, you fool or trick them. Criss Angel duped his audience.

  11. Divergent Things that are divergent become more and more different from each other over time. The roads were divergent .
