  1. Top Trends of Indian Weddings With the November wedding season dawning upon us, and big wigs like Isha Ambani and Priyanka Chopra all set to the tie knot, while Deepika Padukone historic wedding is on its last lap, let’s see what’s trending on the scintillating Indian wedding scene. Trend No. 1# Destination weddings Looking at Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s wedding that took place at Lake Como in Italy, at the fabulous Villa del Balbvanello, the first trend for destination weddings is obvious. Today’s brides- to-be want to get married in new and exotic locations with epic venues. They are becoming more adventurous as they look far beyond the traditional ‘mandap’ and choose destinations like a lavish villa in Spain, or hotel in Dubai. Other hot favourites include exotic beach locations like the sandy beaches of Phuket – Thailand, or the ancient castle of Tuscany in Italy. Trend No 2 # Elaborate invitation cards Isha Ambani’s wedding with Anand Piramal has been initiated with an invitation that goes far beyond the usual, and holds the promise of unsurpassed wedding grandeur to come. With each invitation card costing three lacs, of course, it’s a trend a few can afford. The elaborate invitation has been packed in an exquisitely embossed musical box with golden embroidery, and it plays the Gayatri Mantra when opened. As if this wasn’t enough the invite consists of four more boxes containing golden gifts and a framed picture of Goddess Gayatri. The main box contains a diary with the invitation to the wedding. On the fourth page is a letter to the guests written by the bride, Isha Ambani. It also contains the itinerary to the wedding which took off to a spectacular start after the engagement at (you guessed it, Lake Como in Italy.) Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s invitation cards showcase the more affordable trend to work with different materials like stone engravings, wood and latex; that are adding artistic value and greener options for truly creative wedding cards. Trend No 3# The dramatic bridal entry Gone are the days when brides were coy and shy. Today’s bride is out to make a statement by moving from the ordinary in to the extraordinary. Brides are trying to outdo each other by making dramatic entries on motorbikes, open cars and even auto-rickshaws. Today’s bride likes to be in control and express her passion and she wants to do this while having a lot of fun with family and friends. Trend No. 4 # Lehenga’s are fast replacing wedding saris Lehenga’s are the hot new trend in bridal wear. Not only are they more comfortable and easier to move in than the traditional wedding sari; they also look fabulous for that special day. Deepika chose a Sabyasachi lehenga for her Sindhi wedding. The lehenga cost over 8 lacs and was intricately hand embroidered and gracefully paired with a chowki design aari taari duppatta, set off with a heavy border.
