Goals • Improve global water information sharing • Water Societal Benefit Area Alignment and Support • Improve technical capabilities of GEOSS using best practices from the water domain • Component and Service Contributions for Water SBA • Architecture and Interoperability Arrangement Development. • Make GEOSS a relevant tool for the water community

  3. Overview • Who? International Water Community • What- Collaboration of Water information data services for GEOSS focusing on WaterML2 adoption • Where- Global effort • When? April through November • How ? Integration of complimentary water sharing activates • Why? Improve Global Water Sharing • Result- Contribute to a recommendation the WMO Committee on Hydrology for WaterML2 adoption

  4. Methodology • “Don’t Solve Problems. Copy Success” • Focus on World Water Online Approach • Leverage existing projects and resources. • Take advantage of best practices that have and are in development by the Hydro DWG • Promote organizational interoperability • Support rather than take away from scarce resources

Steps • Stakeholders respond to the AIP-5 CFP • Responses due April 18th • Participate in GEOSS AIP Kickoff meeting Geneva, May 3- May 4 • Help participants get their data services online • CSW,WFS,SOS,CSW • Test user data access experience from different user perspectives • Data producer • Data Manager • Data User Present Results at Brazil GEO Plenary in November
