  1. Federal University of Uberlândia / Faculty of Mechanical Engineering – FEMEC Graduate Program – Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Programs Mechanical Engineering – 1965 Mechatronics Engineering – 2004 Aeronautical Engineering – 2010 Approx.. 1000 students / 62 professors + 20 administrative staff International Mobility Program – CAPES/BRAFITEC (France) and Science Without Borders New campus (10.000 m2) dedicated to the 3 undergraduate courses • Aprox. 200 students / 30 professors • Highest score by CAPES (7) • Partnership with EMBRAER, PETROBRAS, FIAT, EMBRACO... • High quality research in areas such Rotor Dynamics, Structural Analysis, Welding and Fabrication Process, Thermal Fluids (nanofluids / CFD / Heat Transfer)

  2. Research Activities: Conception and design of an airplane with morphing shape through use of smart materials (MCTI/CNPq): development of knowledge and improved solutions for using adaptive materials. Development of in house codes (CFD): Diferent techniques applied for solving industrial problems: external aerodynamics, combustion, petroleum and gas. Rotor Dynamics: vibration, friction damping, tribology, stress measurements. • Structural Health Monitoring (EMBRAER): development of an embedded system for monitoring the structural integrity of the airplane. • Silent Aircraft Project I & II (EMBRAER): development of numerical approach for dealing with aeroacoustics problems – External noise focus. • Multicopter UAV System for Vigilance (ALGAR Group): development of an UAV platform for surveillance in restricted areas. Several other projects funded by Brazilian agencies such as MCTI/FAPEMIG/CNPq among others. Good infrastructure for research (Laboratories, equipments, human resources, administrative support).
