  6. An Advocate is…. • Someone who speaks for another • Legal • Human rights • Health care

  7. Advocate=VOICE

  8. Professional Role • Behind the scenes MLTs are vital members of the healthcare team in their key role of laboratory testing. • 70% of patient’s file is medical lab results • 70% of physician’s treatment plan is based on quality lab results

  9. Making a difference… • as part of the bigger health care picture, think outside of the lab and realize the contribution that you make in your daily worklife
