  5. Stadium Overview • 45,000 Seat Stadium • Construction Started: June 2006 • Planned Construction Period: 14 Months • Open In Time for 2007 Home Season

  6. Stadium Overview • 6-7 Planned Home Games and 2-3 Other Events • Fall Season (Late August to Early December) • Majority of Games Occur on Saturdays • Kick-Off from Noon through Early Evening • Averaging One Weekday Game Every Year • Total: 10 Events Per Year

  7. Stadium Project Traffic • Total: 22,000 Daily Trips • Assuming Sold Out Game (45,000 attendees) • Includes Press, Teams, Bands and Service Staff • Comparison: UCF Generates over 80,000 Trips Every Day During the School Year

Public Workshop Comments • How will you keep people from parking in the neighborhoods that are in walking distance of the stadium? • Provide local residents with two free passes to a campus event (arena, game etc.). Just make us happy after all this. • Where will season ticket holders be able to park their motor homes?

Public Workshop Comments Cont. • If Seminole County does not get funding to provide officers on Lockwood Blvd at McCulloch Road and Lockwood Blvd at Mitchell Hammock Road, how long will they be willing to maintain officers at these intersections? Season one or season two? • Add a right hand turn lane on McCulloch Road onto Campus (North Orion Blvd).

  14. Public Workshop Comments Cont. • You are underestimating the damage that will be done in the Carillon Community. From observation of the surrounding areas of the Citrus Bowl tailgating starts early and continues long after the game. • From this meeting today I’m taking away that the Traffic and Parking Plan is far from complete. • I hope that property values don’t drop dramatically in the next two years.

  15. Public Workshop Comments Cont. • Please provide shuttles from the outlying areas to minimize the amount of cars coming on to campus. These shuttles should utilize dedicated lanes from strategic locations, such as the Oviedo Mall, Waterford Town Center and various lots along University Blvd, like the Publix at Dean Road. Also consider utilizing Westinghouse and the Kroger Center . • On-Campus traffic should allow for the movement of these shuttles in a timely manner.

  16. Public Workshop Comments Cont. • You can walk from the Bonneville Neighborhood to the center of campus faster than it takes to drive. • There is a sizeable field on the turn of Bonneville Road. Not sure of the ownership status, it is roughly located next to your southern most parking area. • Impose the same local traffic restrictions you have on other roadways on Bonneville Road.

  17. Public Workshop Comments Cont. • I don’t believe the traffic management has been thought through. There will be some problems.

Summary of Major Public Issues • How will we prevent people from parking in surrounding neighborhoods and walking to the stadium? • Where will season ticket holders park their motor homes? • How long will the police officers be available if funding is not obtained? • How will you regulate tailgating in neighborhoods? • Will shuttles have dedicated lanes? • Is satellite parking being considered? • Is there a plan to add a right hand turn lane on McCulloch Road onto Campus (North Orion Blvd)?

Interim TMP Plan • Equipment Procurement Timelines and Lengthy Construction Schedules will Preclude us From Getting ITS and Intersection Improvements Installed Prior to First Game • Interim Plan Relies Heavily on Law Enforcement Personnel • Depending on Timing of Funding Approval May Have System Installed by Mid-Season • Intersection Improvements will Likely Lag ITS Installation
