Heisenberg’s Life • Werner Karl Heisenberg was born on December 5, 1901 & died on February 1, 1976. • Heisenberg was born in Würzburg, Germany to Dr. August Heisenberg and Annie Heisenberg. • He was the second son of the the married couple.
Heisenberg’s Education • Heisenberg went to the University of Munich in the fall of 1920. • After three years of college, Heisenberg received his doctorate from the University of Munich in 1923. • Heisenberg’s professor, Arnold Sommerfield recognized his talent and admitted him to an advanced seminar.
The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle • The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle states that it is fundamentally impossible to know precisely both the velocity and position of a particle at the same time. • The principle also means that it is impossible to assign fixed paths for electrons as in Bohr’s model of circular orbits. • The equation for the Uncertainty Principle.
